This means delivering the PET plants clean and free of chemicals. This has been a 3-month process with an ever-shrinking organization and all the associated challenges. I reported to the Site Decommissioning Lead and participated in site status meetings. For the work, I prepared various plans for cleaning and later delivering the empty factories. Reporting the evidence of the work carried out was also one of my tasks. This includes consultation with authorities to properly comply with applicable rules for abandoning a production site.The control of chemical removal from the plants and later removal from the site took place in close cooperation with logistics, the waste coordinator, and myself. This was a challenging task because normally there is no suitable piping present for removing chemicals from a pplant. This needs to be devised, and additionally, we must test the plans against the applicable safety rules and take into account the use of the correct materials. During this period, I led a dedicated operations team that ensured that the agreements made were carried out on time despite the shrinking organization.

Due to this modification, operations no longer need to perform cleaning tasks on the scraper shaft every 8 hours, and the vacuum seal remains intact for a significantly longer period.

As a result of this modification, the plant has become safer, and unplanned stops due to vacuum system leaks have been eliminated.

Implementing new chemicals in the process, developing procedures for operations, reviewing sample schedules and results.

With the introduction of the DOPAK sampling systems, exposure to hazardous substances has been reduced, and taking liquid samples has become much safer.

I proposed this solution for the PET2 plant, developed it, and oversaw its implementation.

Following a BRZO inspection, a pipeline marking project was set up. I coordinated this for the PET factories.

In the overflow compartment of the seal tank, contamination accumulates. Removing this contamination is a heavy burden on operations. This modification would significantly reduce the burden on operations because the contamination no longer needs to be manually scooped up but can be captured in a filter. Unfortunately, the modification was not able to prove itself due to the closure of the factory.

By installing a cyclone in the exhaust stream of a shaking screen, operations are less exposed to dust. This also reduces the emission of dust into the environment.

Under this heading, various projects are included:

• 2005: Introduction of a digital logbook (Excel) for the control rooms of two plants, later replaced by the professional programs Shiftqlick and Ultimo.
• 2007: Consolidated all setpoint lists for the different products and made them interactive with the throughput of the plants. These lists were kept up to date and are still in use in this format.
• 2011: Developed a reporting program for waste generation during the process. This program is still used today to record the three different types of waste and the associated costs.
